Medical Technologist - Flow Cytometry

Job Level & compensation offered may vary depending on candidates’ experiences and competencies.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain flow cytometry instruments and related equipment.
2. Prepare and process biological samples for flow cytometric analysis.
3. Troubleshoot and optimize flow cytometry protocols and procedures.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and protocols.
5. Collaborate with scientists to support flow cytometry needs.
6. Evaluate sample acceptability based on established guidelines and process specimens for analysis in accordance with established written procedures.
7. Accurately evaluate test results according to standardized protocols.
8. Maintain quality control measures during testing to ensure compliance with established quality standards. Document corrective and preventative actions with good documentation practices.
9. Maintain overview of reagent inventory.
10. Assist in the proper maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment in line with manufacturer specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
11. Participate in internal and external quality assessment as required.
12. Comply with good laboratory practices for all procedures in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory standards.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical, Immunology or biological science from an accredited college or university.
2. Minimum 2 years of working experience in a flow cytometry laboratory will be preferred.
3. Proven experience with flow cytometry, including instrument operation and data analysis.
4. Strong understanding of flow cytometry principles and techniques.
5. Familiarity with immunophenotyping and other common applications of flow cytometry will be preferred.
6. Good analytical skills with keen attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
8. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
