Primary Responsibilities (responsibilities specific to this role)
Supply Management: Directly manage supply of a key outsourced module/component that feeds into an Applied Materials tool. Provide weekly readouts on material health status to supply chain executives. Host supplier material readiness review meetings and ensure availability of supplier materials at various Applied locations globally (including sub-tier components). Responsible for managing market share allocations across assigned supplier(s)/programs. Key focal point for managing supplier short shipments until full closure. Work with suppliers on sub-tier supplier changes to support overall supply initiatives, e.g., capacity management, cost savings, customer needs, etc. Facilitate internal stakeholder discussions with suppliers to address issues gating supplier builds, e.g., BOM inaccuracies, engineering spec waivers, rework orders, etc. Obsolescence management – Facilitate seamless transition from end-of-life material to replacement material through close collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Support various inventory management programs both internally and externally, e.g., Consignment, VMI, Aged WIP management, safety stock, etc.
PO Management: Work in MRP (Materials Requirement Planning), or similar demand/supply planning system to procure materials for use in manufacturing assembly, integration, test, or customer spares area. Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and communicate regularly with suppliers on demand forecasting. Provide timely updates of supplier commitments to internal customers via PO promise date, PROMPT and War room files. Responsible for ensuring accurate part level information is maintained in MRP on a timely basis, e.g., lead time, cost, etc. Maintain accurate BOM prices and manage ad hoc supplier PPV requests.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Effectively influence suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet company deliverables. Act as supplier focal point to highlight challenges impacting build, collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop solutions. Conduct quarterly material and build readiness reviews for critical sub-tier material inventory management. Visit supplier sites as needed to follow up on build progress and audit actual progress of tools in WIP vs. supplier commitments and company need dates.
Secondary Responsibilities (employees do this some of the time)
Ad Hoc RFQ requests to support business needs.
Support logistics team and supplier resolution of Receiving Variant Notices (RVNs).
First line of escalation for Accounts Payable (AP) disputes submitted by suppliers.
Audit assigned supplier’s material inventory position to ensure sufficient material availability to support Applied Material needs.
Support logistic cost optimization projects, e.g., ocean shipment, trucking, etc.
Coordinate engineering teams to address supplier queries on engineering-related issues.
Drive overall business process improvements both internally and with suppliers.
