Responsibilities
- Establish a network of commodity team members representing the various manufacturing and New Product Introduction sites. Serve as the mentor / primary contact for Global Commodity Management on Lower Level Materials (LLM) and Assurance Of Supply (AOS) escalations.
- Investigate, define, document and lead the implementation of Commodity Strategy to meet the current and future needs of our businesses & establish a supply chain that provides competitive advantage.
- Lead in the identification, assessment, and selection of suppliers to meet existing and emerging business needs. Establish and execute exit strategies when necessary.
- Establish appropriate supplier relationship models which best match R&D / manufacturing footprint and business needs in-line with the capabilities of the suppliers.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with senior management levels both internal and outside suppliers.
- Initiate and negotiate contracts for assigned commodities. With the aid of financial and risk analysis techniques to develop a strategy for conducting business negotiations and managing the contracts on an ongoing basis.
- Develop a cost effective and flexible NPI proto-type solution that allows the PL/businesses to predict their costs and meet Product Life Cycle & Gross Margin goals.
- Deploy a range of performance measures with goals and control limits. Review and publish these measures regularly. Utilize MOR & TQRDCBE methodology to monitor and manage the performance of strategic/core suppliers.
- Lead Commodity Team in soliciting Business Continuity Plan (BCP) survey completion by Suppliers, including performing the BCP scoring.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of the latest industry/supplier/technology trends and procurement practices and their potential impact on business plans.
- Maintain close linkages with key contacts across all Groups and works towards common goals when possible.
- Work with the suppliers to achieve GCM cost reduction objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or University Degree (Business, Engineering) or equivalent.
- Minimal 2-3 years relevant / strong experience / knowledge of Procurement or Supply Chain.
- Discreet and able to handle private and confidential information.
- Capability to deal efficiently and effectively with Suppliers.
- Proficient with statistics and data analysis (familiar with coding Microsoft SharePoint applications).
- Produce high quality work - good accuracy, effective and consistent.
- Good command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Advanced Excel (VBA / Macros) and PowerPoint.
- Effective in communicating and collaborating with internal and external people.
- A team player & strong inter-personal skill.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Must).
