Job Summary

  • The APJ Marketplaces Manager will hold a high-impact role within HP’s Omnichannel Go-To-Market organization, reporting directly to the Global Director of Marketplaces. This manager-level position will be responsible for overseeing the success of HP’s entire product portfolio, including Personal Systems, Printing, Printing Supplies, HyperX & Poly on eCommerce marketplaces.

  • The role will manage HP’s presence across major APJ marketplaces, including Amazon, JD.com, Tmall, Lazada, Flipkart, Rakuten, Shopee, and Alibaba, covering both 1P (first-party) and 3P (third-party) business models.

  • This position aims to ensure that HP’s products are effectively reaching end customers while fostering robust relationships with accounts and sellers.

What a Marketplace Manager, Asia Pacific Japan does at HP:

  • Revenue Growth & Profitability: Formulate and implement tailored strategies across marketplaces to drive revenue growth and profitability. This includes identifying revenue opportunities and optimizing catalog coverage on each marketplace’s customer demographics and purchasing behaviors.

  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Take a lead role in refining the customer buying experience for HP products across APJ marketplaces. This involves using customer feedback to implement improvements, ensuring that product listings are optimized for visibility and relevance, and fostering seamless digital interactions that enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Account & Seller Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with marketplace accounts and key sellers to expand HP’s reach and maintain brand standards. Facilitate collaboration with these stakeholders to align on growth objectives and performance targets.

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of professionals responsible for executing HP’s marketplace strategies, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback. Ensure that team members are aligned with HP’s objectives and are well-equipped to drive operational excellence.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with senior management to define policies and long-term strategic goals for HP’s marketplace presence across the APJ region. Translate these high-level goals into actionable plans that are achievable and measurable.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with various HP departments, including sales, brand protection, marketing, legal, and product categories, to ensure cohesive execution of marketplace strategies and alignment with HP’s global priorities.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct thorough analyses of marketplace performance, tracking key metrics (e.g., sales growth, market share, conversion rate, unit share, etc.) to inform strategic decisions. Produce regular reports and provide insights that highlight trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Brand Protection: Collaborate with internal and external brand protection teams to safeguard HP’s brand integrity across digital platforms, addressing any issues related to product counterfeiting, IP infringements, or unauthorized resellers promptly and effectively.

  • Marketplace Program Implementation: Lead the integration of HP’s policies across APJ platforms, ensuring brand standards are consistently applied. Enhance customer trust and protect HP’s brand reputation by upholding strict marketplace standards.

  • Digital Marketing Strategy: Design and execute digital marketing campaigns on APJ marketplaces to boost HP’s brand visibility, drive engagement, and increase traffic to HP product listings. Leverage market insights to tailor campaigns that are optimized for each platform.

  • AI-Driven Insights: Utilize artificial intelligence tools and analytics to enhance marketplace strategies, such as identifying sales trends, optimizing product listings, and predicting customer purchasing behaviors for proactive decision-making.

  • Brand Store Management: Oversee HP’s official brand stores on various APJ marketplaces, ensuring that each store accurately represents HP’s brand, showcases a strategically curated product assortment, and meets HP’s global branding standards.

  • Digital Content Development: Coordinate the development and optimization of digital content across marketplaces, including product descriptions, images, and videos, to improve SEO performance, maximize visibility, and enhance the overall customer experience. Lead digital transformation initiatives, collaborating cross-functionally to align on strategic objectives and ensure digital excellence across all marketplace interactions.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of management experience in digital business, eCommerce, digital marketing, or closely related fields, with a proven track record of success in driving digital transformation and marketplace growth.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, along with a strong foundation in data analysis and reporting. Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform business decisions.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both internal stakeholders and external partners. Experience in building and nurturing relationships with marketplace partners.

  • Marketplace & eCommerce Expertise: Extensive knowledge of marketplace operations, digital commerce, and the online retail industry within the APJ region. Demonstrated experience managing high-profile accounts and understanding marketplace dynamics.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving strategic objectives and driving operational success.

  • Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in strategic planning and the ability to translate high-level objectives into detailed action plans. Capable of aligning marketplace strategies with HP’s broader organizational goals.

  • Multidisciplinary Team Management: Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating efforts across various functions such as marketing, sales, product management, and analytics to achieve cohesive and successful outcomes.

  • Multi-Country Experience: Prior experience managing marketplace strategies or business operations across multiple countries within APJ, with an understanding of regional market dynamics, cultural nuances, and localization requirements.

  • Data and Performance Focused: Strong metrics-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement and performance optimization.

Education & Experience

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in category management, P&L management, or a related field.
