We are seeking an exceptional market research, customer data and business analyst with experience in both primary and secondary research to develop, analyze, synthesize and communicate actionable insights to help the company understand what products people want, who will buy them, and at what price. The ideal candidate should also be able to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to customer behavior to help make informed business decisions.
Responsibilities
Market Research Analyst
- Provide inputs and perspective on product and market research availability as it pertains to specific initiatives.
- Generate market research reports for product management, marketing, and sales.
- Develop a broad and rich understanding of key industry/company trends by leveraging secondary data sources to help monitor and diagnose brand/category and address business issues and information needs.
- Proactively mine/analyze available data sources to further the team's understanding of the business/market, develop hypotheses, and identify insights.
Conduct Research
- Build detailed profiles of existing and target customers.
- Assess target markets, including estimating market size and identifying key market traits, drivers, challenges, and opportunities.
- Analyze competitors across market segments.
- Understand customer behavior, preferences, and business conditions/pricing through surveys, interviews, and online research.
- Manage external resources/vendors to execute market research, design and develop questionnaires, and run data analysis.
Customer Data Analyst
- Act as custodian of customer data to acquire and enrich the organization’s database profiling with firmographic data.
- Standardize customer contact information to improve delivery rates, campaign performance, and analysis opportunities.
- Assist in the analysis of demographics to better target regional product offerings.
- Run customer analytics to identify, attract, and retain the most profitable customers.
- Work with the marketing manager to develop and implement trigger-based client contact strategies.
- Design and build processes to execute and automate campaign strategies.
- Oversee back-end reporting and analysis for direct mail and media campaigns.
Business and Sales Analyst
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity for revenue growth and cost reduction for specific market segments.
- Conduct quantitative analysis including ROI, trending, and forecasting.
- Collect sales records, analyze sales performance metrics, and generate reports.
- Guide sales reps in entering accurate forecasts in the sales force.
- Communicate sales reporting & sales forecasting to Senior management.
- Analyze product line operations to determine profitability and establish baselines for action.
- Develop models and reporting structures that identify costs per unit.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customer insights/custom market (B2B) research.
- Well-developed knowledge of a wide range of custom research methodologies and techniques.
- Proficient in MS Excel, statistical software, data collection methods, and fluent with SQL/BI/Visualization tools/Tableau.
- Desired experience in data mining and advanced regression modeling.
