Job description

Job Summary:

As a Marine Technical Engineer, you are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of marine vessels, machinery, and equipment. You provide technical expertise for construction, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance to ensure the reliability and functionality of vessels and related systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Managing and overseeing daily vessel operations, including movements, documents, and risk management.
  2. Ensuring compliance for Port state.
  3. Handling and checking ship and cargo documents, including customs compliance for international shipment, raising purchase procurement and purchase orders for vessel maintenance and repair requests.
  4. Tracking and reviewing approved purchase requisitions for all vessels.
  5. Assisting relevant departments with claims such as demurrage, cargo shortage, and commercial issues.
  6. Submitting monthly statistical reports, including operating rate statistics, demurrage, and voyage reporting.
  7. Improving ship efficiency and reducing operational risk.
  8. Installing, troubleshooting, and managing marine electrical systems.
  9. Engaging and deploying sea staff for vessel assignments.
  10. Managing planned maintenance system (PMS) repairs and maintenance activities documentation and reporting into the marine department archive.
  11. Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing marine IC engines, electrical circuitry, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, basic fluid and hydrodynamic principles, boats architecture and design, and maintenance level categorization.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marine & Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Knowledge of international maritime regulations and environmental standards.
  3. Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with vessel operations, maintenance, or technical troubleshooting.
  4. Knowledge of marine electrical systems and ability to read electrical layout drawings.
  5. Willingness to travel and work in challenging environments (e.g., shipyards or offshore).
  6. Proficient in English (spoken and written) & Microsoft Office.
  7. Team player and able to work within time constraints.
  8. Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
