Marine Technical Engineer

As a Marine Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of marine vessels, machinery, and equipment. You will provide technical expertise in vessel construction, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance to maintain the reliability and functionality of ships and associated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage daily vessel operations, including movement coordination, documentation, and risk management.
2. Ensure compliance with Port State regulations.
3. Handle and review ship and cargo documentation, ensuring customs compliance for international shipments.
4. Process procurement requests and purchase orders for vessel maintenance and repairs.
5. Track and review approved purchase requisitions for all vessels.
6. Assist relevant departments with claims related to demurrage, cargo shortages, and commercial disputes.
7. Submit monthly reports, including operational statistics, demurrage, and voyage performance data.
8. Enhance vessel efficiency and minimize operational risks.
9. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine IC engines, electrical circuitry, mechanical and hydraulic systems, fluid dynamics, and vessel architecture.
10. Assign and deploy sea staff for vessel operations.
11. Manage the Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring accurate documentation and proper filing within the marine department.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Marine & Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Knowledge of international maritime regulations and environmental standards.
3. Certifications:
   • Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course (preferred).
   • Crane maintenance experience is a must (Crane Barge, Flat-top Barge, Tugboat, Workboat, etc.).
4. Experience:
   • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in vessel operations, maintenance, or technical troubleshooting.
   • Proficiency in marine electrical systems and the ability to interpret electrical layout drawings.
5. Other Requirements:
   • Willingness to travel and work in demanding environments such as shipyards or offshore locations.
   • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
   • High level of integrity and professionalism.
