Responsible for the execution of the inspection works:
Carry out the supervisory work in connection with steel replacement and coating for the Renewal Survey onboard vessel or sail with the vessel from port to port.
Surveys marine vessels, such as ships, tankers, etc, to ascertain condition of hull and to determine repairs required for vessel to meet requirements for insuring:
Examine underwater section of hull while ship is dry docked to ascertain conditions that indicate repairs are required.
Inspect above waterline section of ship, such as hatchways, freeing ports, ventilators, bulkheads, fittings, and attachments, for compliance with operating standards, and compliance with standards for protection of crew.
Adhere to the work schedule for work that is consistent with the project schedule as directed.
Responsible for preparing reports as required by the Company or Clients, e.g. Prepares reports on types of surveys conducted, recommended actions and repairs, or conditions remedied.
Resolve problems and implement solutions affecting the quality management system.
Undertake corrective actions for any non-conformance identified during internal audits.
Monitor the status of individual project based on the project schedule.
Identify problems or deficiencies in products / services or in the MS Marine Quality Management System.
Ensure ongoing compliance with the relevant standards.
Job Qualifications:
Nitec / Diploma holder in Engineering field with PCN Certification or its equivalent
Candidates with no prior experience are highly encouraged to apply. Training in various aspects such as job planning, execution, documentation, client relationship management through to final completion of jobs and delivery.
Those with hands-on experience in welding Inspection with CSWIP3.1 or AWS-CWI certification / quality control activities will be a plus.
Good knowledge on Hull Visual / UTG / MPI / DPT inspections, etc and classification society standards.
At least 2 years working experience in an oil & gas, fabrication, welding or shipyard environment.
Proficiency in MS Office application and AutoCAD software.
Good communication skills for understanding various specifications.
Meticulous and result-oriented.
Ability to multi-task between projects and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Can work long hours and operationally ready as required.
Overseas travelling required.
Remuneration commensurate with related experience.
