Job description
Our client is a major Energy/Oil & Gas MNC. Currently, they are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced candidate to join them as “Marine Assurance Lead (Asia Pacific)”.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate proactively with the relevant teams to provide uninterrupted vetting coverage to the business units.
Provide support in the continued implementation and improvement of the Marine Risk Management Standard and the associated assurance, vetting and auditing processes.
Collaborate with Commercial and Technical functions to provide marine expertise and support to business unit marine operations and projects as needed.
Interface with the business units and provide guidance on marine risk related matters and the vetting process.
Organize and arrange vessel inspections with Company and third-party inspectors under the OCIMF SIRE & OVID inspection programs.
Support OCIMF SIRE/OVID inspections of Company operated and chartered vessels.
Conduct TMSA/OVMSA/MTMSA verification audits of vessel and terminal operators and follow through to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
Support the Marine Terminal Assurance Program (MTAP) by conducting terminal assessments.
Attend industry functions as directed by manager, Marine Assurance, on marine related matters to promote the continued improvement in industry standards and best practices that may impact the business.
Monitor incident reports and trends of vessels in Company service to make prompt recommendations to improve risk mitigation measures.
Support the review of marine incidents with assessment of vessel incident reports, identifying trends and developing best practices for risk mitigation.
Act as a vetting backup to other regional Marine Assurance leads to provide global vetting coverage on a need to basis.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a marine related field or foreign equivalent
Ideally 10+ years sea going experience including time as a Senior Officer combined with 5+ years equivalent shoreside operations/assurance/vetting experience in the Maritime Industry
Otherwise, minimum 5-7 years seagoing experience as an Officer, combined with minimum 3-5 years equivalent shoreside operations/assurance vetting experience in the maritime industry
Maritime Academy Graduate.
Working knowledge with OCIMF, IMCA, CDI, USCG or equivalent
Working knowledge with SIRE, OVID, TMSA, OVMSA
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively to drive team performance
Able to develop and sustain strong working relationships to facilitate the needs of the business
Applies policies, guidelines and standards objectively
Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely risk-based decisions that are ethical and safe utilizing previous experience and expertise
