Job Description

(Laboratory Works)

1. Prepare chemical samples & solutions for instrument testing following standard operating procedures.
2. Conduct inventory checks for chemical stocks, ensuring adequate supplies and timely reordering.
3. Perform chemical waste management controls, including proper labelling, storage, and tracking of chemical waste.
4. Conduct routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) of laboratory equipment, including Milli-Q water systems. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
5. Document laboratory activities, including test results, observations, and inventory records.
6. Follow safety protocols for chemical handling, storage, and disposal.
7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and compliance.

(Instrument Testing)

1. Test, calibrate and fine-tune instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
2. Collaborate on developing methods to enhance manufacturing processes, improving cycle-time, yield, and unit cost.
3. Cross-train in other manufacturing tasks to provide support as needed.
4. Strive for continuous improvement to ensure products meet customer expectations for performance, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

1. Nitec or Higher Nitec/Diploma in Biomedical/Biotech/Chemistry or a related field is acceptable for entry-level roles.
2. Diploma in Electronics with relevant experience in chemical preparation will also be considered.

Skills and Knowledge:

1. Proficiency in preparing chemical solutions and samples accurately.
2. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including pipettes, volumetric flasks.
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
4. Basic understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and safety protocols.
5. Basic computer skills for inventory management, data entry, and report preparation.
6. Knowledge of chemical waste management practices is a plus.
