Comes prepared for curriculum-based meetings with Principal/Curriculum Mentor as scheduled.
Submits weekly teaching plans to Principal/Curriculum Mentor as scheduled.
Plans, sets up, and creates a learning environment that encourages exploration, collaboration, thinking, creativity, and problem-solving opportunities.
Management of the Learning Environment:
Ensures indoor and outdoor learning environments/experiences are:
Physically and psychologically safe to ensure the physical as well as emotional safety of all children.
Intellectually stimulating to cultivate intellectual curiosity.
Intentionally designed to foster the achievement of learning outcomes and the development of self-regulation.
Interactions with Children:
Shows regard for children’s perspectives (e.g., encourages children to talk; elicits ideas and/or perspectives, incorporates children’s ideas while keeping in mind the main objective of the lesson).
Treats each child with dignity and respect at all times.
Promotes the development of conflict resolution skills by facilitating children’s conversations and interactions when necessary.
Actively interacts with children throughout the school day, including all caregiving routines such as meal times and toileting as well as outdoor and free play.
Observations and Assessment:
Engages in ongoing observation, documentation, and evaluation to inform curriculum planning.
Collects, organizes, documents, and analyses children’s work/activities.
Develops and maintains children’s portfolios.
Relationships with Families and Community:
Develops trusting and positive relationships with all children in the class and their parents.
Creates meaningful opportunities for parents’ involvement and possible collaborations with them and community partners (e.g., public library, schools, and museums).

Demonstrates willingness to support the teaching team as needed.

Performs additional duties as assigned by management according to the school’s needs.
Professional Development:
Actively engages in ongoing reflections and evaluations to fine-tune teaching practices.
Works with Principal/Curriculum Mentor to develop a professional development map based on identified areas of improvement.
Participates in recommended training programmes, conferences, and courses for professional growth.
Applies knowledge attained through training in the development and implementation of the curriculum.
Contributes to the professional development of fellow teachers by sharing professional learning through in-house sharing sessions, workshops, and presentations at local and international conferences.
Job Requirements:
Diploma or degree qualification in early childhood or currently pursuing the above qualification for the Chinese Teacher Position.
Willing to learn (Assistant Teachers).
A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
