As the APAC Managing Director, Strategic Partnerships (SP), you will build Capital Group's (CG's) business in the region by establishing strategic distribution partnerships with major domestic or regional champions in markets where CG does not have a physical presence, such as Thailand and Malaysia, or for more complex opportunities in established markets such as India and Singapore.
You will work under the guidance of the Southeast Asia (SEA) Head of Client Group, with an initial focus on SEA, but SP could be developed anywhere in APAC.
Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture new multi-faceted and multi-level client relationships with key decision-makers within target organizations.
- Work closely with multiple cross-functional teams to understand what can be deployed for clients, generate appropriate data analysis to facilitate prospecting activities and ensure internal alignment for partnership initiatives.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential SP opportunities with large financial intermediaries (or even institutional) clients in prospective markets.
- Create and execute effective holistic sales strategies to engage potential partners, aligning with CG's growth objectives.
- Develop and coordinate senior engagement between CG leadership and potential partners.
- Articulate CG's investment services, philosophy, vision of 'Value Beyond Investing' and culture with clients, customizing and adapting partnership services that are relevant to them.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, local regulation and market developments to identify new opportunities and potential risks.
- Develop compelling proposals and presentations to effectively communicate the value of partnering with CG.
- Represent Strategic Partnerships internally and help shape decisions on areas of strategic priority and relevant to this role.

- At least 15 years of experience in a client facing role with a proven track record in winning with clients and building business.
- Successful history in developing client relationships at different levels within the client organization, including with senior management.
- Strong understanding of financial intermediaries and asset management business models.
- Proven affinity with investments, macroeconomics, and capital markets.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to discuss financial topics with senior and technical clients independently.
- Experienced in the written and verbal communication of persuasive, client-centric, and well-structured messages.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and driven to make progress by developing new relationships, uncovering opportunities and winning new business.
- High-impact, innovative, and strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively with internal business partners.
- Demonstrate resilience and thrive in an ambiguous, dynamic environment where you are resourceful in deploying strong problem-solving skills to make progress without perfect information.
- Good prioritization and business judgement with long-term perspectives.
- Willing to travel at least 25% of the time.
- Encouraged to have an SEA language, but it is not required.
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
