Job description

We are a Singapore Construction Company and due to organization and business transformation, we require an experienced Managing Director to manage. This role reports to the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

The Managing Director develops business and professional networks to foster an atmosphere of inclusiveness with diverse external stakeholders and the global business community.

In addition, the Managing Director directs yard operations and provides leadership to departmental managers to ensure the organisational objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities include:

  1. Optimizing sales
  2. Reviewing business contracts
  3. Developing international businesses
  4. Cost management
  5. Experience in good accounting receivables and cash flow management

This is both a hands-on and strategic role. The Managing Director also formulates and recommends ideas and directions to drive changes in the organisation while maintaining a culture of innovativeness to sustain value creation in meeting the competitive position and long-term objectives of the organisation. Additionally, the Managing Director mentors and develops talents as future leaders.

  • Act as mentor to develop talents.
  • Challenge new ideas while actively balancing risks and opportunities.
  • Champion the adoption of lean manufacturing for the organisation.
  • Develop and strengthen relations with executive management.
  • Drive value creation to meet the long-term objectives of the organisation.
  • Formulate business ideas and directions to drive change in the organisation.
  • Foster an atmosphere of inclusiveness with diverse external stakeholders and the global business community.
  • Innovate and create an environment that encourages innovation.
  • Lead organisational succession planning, capability development, and employee engagement.
  • Maintain a culture of innovative thinking and practices.
  • Steer the organisation to achieve excellence in a globalised environment.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Business Management, Accountancy, Finance, or Economics
  2. At least 10 years experience in construction at a leadership job level, with at least 5 years experience leading a construction company in driving sales & profitability, cash flow, and accounting receivables management
  3. Comfortable being based at the construction yard office
  4. Resilient, good interpersonal skills, and excel in driving sales and business development
  5. Experience in managing P&L
  6. Good team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
  7. Versatile, hands-on, and strategic
