The opportunity

We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager to join our Valuation, Modelling & Economics team, focused on the Financial Services sector, within the Strategy and Transactions service line in Singapore. We work across the financial services sector (fintech, digital banking, traditional banking, insurtech and insurance, wealth & asset management) and operate in a broad range of disciplines including:

  • M&A and fundraising valuation diligence
  • Financial modelling for M&A and market entry (JV, greenfield, etc.)
  • Valuation for financial reporting
  • Financial modelling for FP&A (business forecasting and planning)
  • Data analytics and visualization
  • Other, bespoke model development

Your key responsibilities

  • Have a primary focus on valuation and financial modelling to deliver projects for financial service sector clients throughout Asia.
  • Advise clients on M&A deals and strategic corporate finance issues.
  • Create and present insightful and compelling management presentations and valuation reports.
  • Use data analysis to address complex corporate finance and strategy problems.
  • Lead and be a part of project teams comprising colleagues from different competencies.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence, advice, and support to key decision makers.
  • As part of your career development, lead sales opportunities with senior team members and clients; lead preparing proposal documents; be supported in building client relationships at all levels.
  • Be innovative and insightful in considering industry trends and potential disruptions.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong valuation and financial modelling skills with proven ability to deliver business valuations and create robust and flexible financial models.
  • Critical thinking, combined with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Commitment, grit and ability to work in a fast-paced/ investment environment.
  • Managing, coaching and reviewing the work of junior staff members.
  • Developing and guiding junior staff by providing timely, effective performance feedback/training.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science or Engineering.
  • International exchange experience during university or international working experience is a strong plus.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in valuation, financial modelling, corporate development, FP&A, preferably in a Big 4 or other large professional services organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of valuation methods and concepts.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to create fit for purpose financial models.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements.
  • Demonstrated capability or strong interest in using visualization software and managing data sets.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to new challenges in a collaborative team environment.

Ideally, you also have

  • Experience and interest in the financial services sector.
  • A proven record of excellence in merger integration, acquisitions, divestitures.
  • CFA, FMVA, CAIA, CVA, BIDA, CPA.
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry.
