About Department and Purpose of the Position
Being part of the Marcomms Team in the Ops & Admin Department of the University Surgical Cluster, you will work closely with Head, Ops, clinicians, nurses and administrators from both the Department of Surgery and Department of Urology. The incumbent will be responsible for increasing the profile of our services and people to local and international institutions and patients.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Professional Education
    Work with Clinical Directors and HODs to lead and drive (from conceptualization to execution) scientific education symposiums for transplant professionals.
  2. Public Education
    Partner with institutions/ societies/ organisations for outreach programmes to raise awareness.
  3. External and Internal Communications
    Plan and develop, execute comms strategies to profile Surgery & Urology positively through the various media (including social media, mass media, collaterals, etc).
    Write well and build content for all publicity material.
    Work closely with internal NUHS / NUH Comms team for both internal and external communication channels - including collateral development and production, media monitoring and management.
  4. Department’s Events / Activities
    Organise and support the department’s events and activities as well as help manage the department’s corporate contents on website and social media.
  5. Supervision and Development
    Work independently, supervise and appraise staff performance and promote professional development of the team members under their supervision.
    Guide and mentor junior staff.
    Disseminate and implement hospital’s policies & procedures.
    Ensure Policy & Procedures are current.
  6. Any other related duties as assigned by Reporting Officer.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management or Mass Communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in events, marketing/ communications, preferably in healthcare settings.
  • Independent, self-driven and results-oriented.
  • Creative, meticulous, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • A team player who is also able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is expected.
  • Proficient use of Adobe Photoshop and other media/artwork software to work on creative content.
