Manager, Strategic Planning

About the National Kidney Foundation (NKF):
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is a leader in advocating for kidney health and holistic care within communities. We aim to deliver affordable, sustainable, and high-quality renal care while preventing or delaying kidney failure. Our mission is driven by education, community engagement, and strategic collaborative partnerships.

Role Overview:
You will be part of the Strategic Planning and Innovative team that supports the Head of Function, while working close with Senior Management of the Foundation and relevant external stakeholders. You will be involved in shaping the Foundation’s overall corporate strategy, monitoring and executing key strategic initiatives and tracking corporate performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive high-impact strategic projects that will keep the Foundation ahead of its peers.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor strategies to recommend evidence-informed strategic directions and areas of growth for the Foundation and to address strategic priorities.
  • Provide actionable recommendations through rigorous analysis and innovative problem-solving.
  • Lead Corporate Performance Balanced Scorecard process, including the development of key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as well as tracking, analysis and reporting of KPI results.
  • Lead in the collation of corporate data relevant to chart the direction of the Foundation and effectively communicate findings to support the Foundation’s departments in shaping strategies.
  • Manage and drive the implementation of corporate initiatives, ensuring that they are on track, achieving the desired outcomes.
  • Work closely with Senior Management on Work Planning activities.
  • Craft and present compelling, insight-driven narratives for Senior Management to support strategic discussions and decisions
  • Facilitate execution of strategic and transformational initiatives by presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Management and the Board / Steering Committee(s).
  • Support CEO in other priority work initiatives, as required, including staffing for key management events.

Requirements:

  • Graduate qualification with relevant equivalent experience of at least 5-8 years in corporate, business, or strategic planning is required, preferably with exposure to high-impact, cross-functional projects. Experience in healthcare would be preferred.
  • Experience in project management and planning.

Soft Skills

  • Meticulous, resourceful and self-motivated.
  • Strong in critical thinking and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage and execute high-impact strategic projects.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and distil them into clear, structured insights for effective decision-making.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Powerpoint presentation.
  • Ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner, both in written reports and presentations, tailored for Senior Management and C-suite executives.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and a team player
