Job description

The Singapore International Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 1991. We aim to build a better world through shared ideas, skills and experiences, so as to uplift lives and create greater understanding between Singaporeans and world communities.

The Programmes Division designs and implements programmes that bring people together to share ideas, skills and resources to enrich lives and effect positive change. With an aim to catalyse strategic multi-stakeholder collaboration for sustainable social impact, we initiate convenings and develop platforms that foster partnerships, drive innovation and mobilise resources for collective action.

We are seeking a creative, highly motivated and resourceful Manager/Senior Manager to support the Foundation’s youth development programmes. In this role, you will develop and implement initiatives that will empower and equip youths to become changemakers and leaders. Your responsibilities will include managing the set-up and operations of youth communities, as well as engaging alumni, members and volunteers through curated and targeted programming.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and manage youth committees/networks/workgroups that will contribute to the content and implementation of impactful youth development programmes.
  2. Drive the recruitment and management members/volunteers, including developing the selection criteria, liaising with nominating organisations, managing the application and selection process, as well as conducting briefings and orientations.
  3. Ensure effective and regular communication and engagement with members/volunteers (including organising meetings and managing communication channels) to optimise programme delivery.
  4. Organise activities and events to creatively and meaningfully engage and empower members/volunteers in contributing to content and programme development.
  5. Develop and implement a meaningful and sustainable alumni cultivation and engagement plan, with a view to grow the youth committees/networks/workgroups in scope and size.
  6. Support optimal communications and engagement with various partners and stakeholders in the philanthropic, public and private sectors, to ensure the success of youth development programmes.
  7. Manage service providers, suppliers and vendors (e.g., training providers, transport/travel companies), as well as track budget, milestones and outcomes (including managing feedback and conducting surveys), to ensure the quality and timely delivery of youth development programmes.

Requirements:

  1. University degree holder in any discipline.
  2. 5 - 8 years of experience in managing youth development programmes for institutes of higher learning, or non-profit or training and development organisations.
  3. Good understanding of the dynamics and challenges in higher learning, first jobber and youth spaces.
  4. Competency in budget, events, project and resource management.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, organisational and time management skills.
  7. Proficiency in CRM, graphic design and Microsoft Office software.
  8. Adaptable, proactive and resourceful self-starter, with the ability to handle concurrent work assignments and deliver quality work within budget and on time.
  9. Detail-oriented, organised, quick-thinking and solutions-minded team player, with the ability to work collaboratively, as well as navigate ambiguity and diverse cultural contexts.
  10. Strong interest in non-profit and social impact sectors.
  11. Proficiency in other Southeast Asian languages is an added advantage.
  12. Singaporean.
