Job description

The Manager/Senior Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for leading the internal audit function to ensure the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive audit plan, providing strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audit Planning and Execution:
    1. Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit strategy and risk-based internal audit plan.
    2. Lead and conduct audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes and identify areas for improvement.
    3. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance risk management and governance processes.
    4. Ensure audits are completed on time and within budget.
  2. Risk Management:
    1. Identify and assess areas of significant business risk.
    2. Provide recommendations to mitigate risks and improve processes.
    3. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
  3. Reporting:
    1. Prepare and present audit reports to senior management and the audit and risk committee.
    2. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
    3. Track and report on the status of audit issues and management actions.
  4. Leadership and Development:
    1. Lead, mentor, and develop the internal audit team.
    2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    3. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  5. Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    2. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Chartered Accountant, Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CISA are highly desirable.
  3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or related fields, with at least 5 years leading an internal audit and risk assessment function.
  4. Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
