Job Description

Lead the Faculty Communications team in the following areas:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for external and internal audiences to enhance the Faculty's reputation and promote its mission and achievements as a thought leader in oral, dental, and craniofacial health.
  2. Oversee the creation and distribution of engaging and informative content across various channels, with a focus on television, radio, and newspaper, in addition to website, social media, and internal communications.
  3. Manage media relations, including cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with journalists and the University’s Corporate Communications Office, proactively providing media material, responding promptly and accurately to media inquiries, and coordinating interviews, media briefings, or press conferences as needed.
  4. Monitor, measure, and analyze communication efforts, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  5. Co-ordinate with the University’s Corporate Communications Office to develop crisis communication plans and lead the communication response during emergencies or adverse/sensitive situations.
  6. Support the Faculty’s initiatives on global relations, including coordination of related visits and events.
  7. Manage communication budget and resources effectively.
  8. Oversee the use of Faculty identity, corporate logo, and templates.
  9. Custodian for Faculty website and other corporate social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube; and develop guidelines governing the use of social media channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrable experience in communications or a related field and possesses in-depth knowledge of media relations and brand management.
• Proficient in digital marketing communications and use of various communication tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of basic IT skills related to web development and content management will be an advantage.
• Experience in video production and photography is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Familiarity with the education or non-profit sector is a plus.
