About Department and Purpose of the Position
The National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) is a national specialist centre under the National University Health System (NUHS). It is the only public cancer centre in Singapore treating both paediatric and adult cancers in one facility.


The incumbent is to oversee various aspects of NCIS services in the community (NCIS-on-the-go (NOTG) & NCIS @ Home) to ensure quality patient care and operational efficiency. He/She is also to ensure that cancer patients receive comprehensive, compassionate and effective care within the local community. This involves strategic planning, team leadership, patient-focused care, financial management, quality improvement, community engagement, and embracing technological advancements to improve outcomes and patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversees the development and implementation of current and new NCIS Home & Community programmes and services
    • Patient Flow Optimisation
      • Developing and implementing strategies to streamline patient flow and minimise wait times
      • Coordinating scheduling of appointments, treatments and procedures to maximise efficiency
    • Expansion of NOTG services
      • Identifying areas in the West to create new partnerships and expand NOTG services in the community
    • Data analysis
      • Analysing operational data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement
      • Generating reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and outcomes
    • Staffing
      • Providing training and professional development opportunities to ensure staff competence and compliance with best practices
    • Budgeting and Financial Management
      • Monitoring expenses and revenue to ensure financial visibility and sustainability of operations
      • Projecting financial expenses and budget based on trend
    • Collaborations and communications
      • Facilitating communication and collaboration between clinical departments, administrative staff, and operational issues
  2. Oversee collaboration for patients going to NUPs (NHGD and NUHD) for taking blood
    • Work with the NUPs to ensure the contracts are renewed
    • Ensure timely billing and payment to NUP for the services tendered by NUPs
  3. Oversee NCIS Homecare services

Key Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Degree in Healthcare or a related field is an advantage. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related healthcare field with at least 1 to 3 years in a management or leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
