Job description

The upcoming Eastern General Hospital (EGH) aims to provide excellent healthcare and promote healing centred around each person. When operational, EGH will provide a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient clinical specialties and healthcare services, covering emergency, acute and secondary care. EGH’s vision is to be a hospital for the community and a great workplace for staff. It seeks to do so by harnessing innovative technologies in patient care, journeying closely with patients and the community to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives, and being an employer of choice that empowers staff in their careers.

As part of the HR Talent & Organisation Development team, you will be responsible for driving workforce capability-building, leadership development and succession planning strategies to ensure a robust talent pipeline for EGH. This role is crucial in managing learning and development initiatives, overseeing in-service training programmes such as the Healthcare Manpower Development Plan (HMDP), and administering leadership programmes. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to design and implement structured leadership development programmes, succession planning frameworks, and competency-building initiatives that align with EGH's long-term workforce sustainability goals.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to EGH's talent strategy, ensuring that employees at all levels are equipped with the right skills, knowledge, and leadership potential to support the hospital's mission and growth.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or a related field with at least 8 years' HR experience, focusing on learning & development, talent management, or succession planning
  • Experience managing national or institutional training programmes (e.g., HMDP) is preferred; familiarity with government funding schemes and in-service development programmes is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of leadership development frameworks, competency models, and career pathways
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills to drive talent initiatives successfully
  • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and influencing skills to engage with senior leaders and external agencies
  • Organised, detail oriented and proactive, with strong problem-solving abilities
