Tax Solutions is the Tax Transformation Engine. Its purpose is to design and implement a tax core model which includes standardized processes across geographies, which is a particularly complex tasks in a technical area where rules are country based. This department needs to act as a disruptor of historical ways of working to move to the new reality of Sanofi ways of working, while ensuring business continuity. The role of this department is critical to the success of the Tax Function in the Group as it is the foundation on which the two objectives of the department is built on (compliance and optimization).
This position will support 4 countries in the SEA region which are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines.
The purpose of the Manager for Tax Solutions, Southeast Asia to contribute to the implementation and monitoring of Tax Solutions organization across the geographies in line with the global Direct & Indirect Tax core and operating models.
Main responsibilities:
Support the definition and the implementation of a Target Operating Model, Core Model and RACI/DAI matrix.
Contribute to develop Standard Operating Procedures.
Define and document tax compliance requirements in all jurisdictions.
Define, maintain, and monitor a set of controls ensuring the tax compliance of Sanofi’s operations.
Contribute to the development & maintenance of Sanofi's tax control framework.
Identify and implement standardization and simplification opportunities.
Working closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. SBS) to provide process maps, control descriptions etc. for tax authorities, when required.
Take an active role as 2nd line of defense by driving and developing our forward-looking risk management process and ensure tax audits readiness in all jurisdictions based. Closely collaborate and work with A2R teams who will produce tax compliance and supporting documentation.
Be the link to A2R teams and other stakeholders, providing technical expertise for design of processes, monitoring processes, and actively closing gaps in controls.
Contribute to provide tax advice and to support the local businesses, the Head of Tax – Asia Pacific the Global Transfer Pricing Team and the Tax Reporting Team.
Help in maintaining strong awareness of, and , changes to tax legislation and case law that could impact the company's operations and support in establishing proactive plans accordingly for both cash and financial tax reporting purposes.
Provide tax advice on and support the implementation of strategic projects, such as business restructuring and M&A initiatives.
Support the monitoring and facilitate the coordination of transfer pricing matters (including transfer pricing documentation).
Identify opportunities of tax savings and minimize tax exposures, contribute to the development and/or the implementation of local tax planning strategies.
Provide technical support to local team on the quarterly tax provisions in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
Based on information and documentation provided by and in close coordination with A2R teams, be a point of contact for any tax inquiries and tax audits.
Contribute to review, validate, and ensure that all tax returns, tax declarations and other required reports prepared by A2R teams are accurate and submitted on time, in full compliance with the relevant local tax laws and regulations.
