Strategy Development:
Support developing and implementing a comprehensive research communication strategy to disseminate research findings effectively.
Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to identify key communication objectives and target audiences.
Content Creation:
Produce various content types, including press releases, research summaries, blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates to highlight research activities and outcomes.
Ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and tailored to the intended audience.
Media Relations:
Build relationships with journalists, reporters, and media outlets to facilitate coverage of research projects and findings.
Prepare and distribute press releases and coordinate media inquiries and interviews.
Internal Communications:
Work with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of communication efforts across the College of Design and Engineering (CDE).
Organise and lead training sessions or workshops to improve researchers' communication skills and media engagement.
Digital and Social Media Management:
Manage and curate content for the organisation’s research communication platforms, including websites, blogs, and social media.
Monitor and analyse the impact of digital communications and adjust strategies to enhance engagement and reach.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborative projects that enhance the visibility and impact of research.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust tactics based on data and feedback.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the impact of research communication efforts to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
A degree in Science or Engineering.
Excellent command of English communication skills, both spoken and written.
Experience in science/research communication.
Understanding of research process and academic environments.
Proficiency in various social media tools and platforms.
Familiarity with multimedia tools and platforms for creating and disseminating content, such as video editing software, design tools, and analytics software.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with researchers, media, and stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to diverse audiences and cultures.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and new challenges in a dynamic environment.
