Job Summary
The Capability Development and Business Planning Manager will support the Head of the Capability Development and Business Planning in planning, managing, and implementing both short- and long-term strategic initiatives aimed at developing and enhancing the business's future capabilities. The incumbent will focus on refining processes, systems, and team skills while leveraging technology and innovation to drive efficiency and improve event execution. This role is critical in ensuring the business remains competitive, adaptable, and responsive to the evolving market landscape.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Head of Capability Development and Business Planning to develop, support and implement comprehensive strategic plans to build and refine the company’s capabilities, aligning with overall business objectives
Lead efforts to enhance operational processes, systems, and workflows to improve business efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across departments
Identify opportunities for leveraging technology solutions that enhance productivity, streamline operations, and improve overall event execution, ensuring the business stays at the forefront of industry trends
Foster and build strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal & external), partners, and industry alliances to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and alignment of capability development efforts to broaden business needs and market expectations
Work closely with department leads to assess team capabilities and provide guidance in upskilling and developing future leaders. Ensure training programs align with organizational goals and enhance employee performance
Drive innovation by introducing new processes, systems, or approaches that promote creativity and adaptability.
Implement and support change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new strategies across the organization by staying informed and agile on industry trends, competitor activities and market changes.
Work cross-functionally with key departments such as operations, sales, marketing, and HR to ensure that capability development initiatives align with broader company goals and deliver measurable outcomes\
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of capability development initiatives.
Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations for further improvement
Manage the budget for capability development initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with the organization’s financial goals
Qualifications and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Business, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in event management, with a demonstrated ability to scale operations and enhance team capabilities
Proven track record in strategic planning, event execution, and leadership, with the ability to drive team development and operational excellence
Relevant certifications in project management or event planning preferable
Strong understanding of industry trends, best practices, and customers’ requirements
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Expertise in optimizing processes and systems for better performance In-depth understanding of tech solutions and ability to innovate event formats and experiences Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational abilities Proven ability to supervise teams, foster growth, and drive continuous improvement Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving in high-pressure situations Expertise in MICE, leisure, and entertainment sectors Proven experience in delivering end-to-end event solutions and operations
