About the Department

The Transformation & COO Office is the enabler to achieve the business goals across the 3 business units of Group Retail - Personal Financial Services, Business Banking and Private Banking.

Group Retail has 13 strategic programs that cover customer touchpoints (digital and omnichannel), core product capabilities (cards, wealth, business banking) in addition to data and productivity programs.

Job Responsibilities

Business Risk & Control Management – Retail (Financial Advisory & Conduct)

The successful candidate will be part of the Business Risk & Control Management – Retail (Financial Advisory & Conduct) specialist team residing in the Retail Segment in UOB Singapore. You are expected to be familiar with the rules and regulations relevant to this segment. You will be working closely with the Group Compliance and Business in managing business compliance risks.

Specific roles and responsibilities include:

1. Keeping abreast of regulatory developments and assisting to assess impact on the business.
2. Providing operational advisories to the business unit.
3. Assisting to develop sales assurance controls and coordinating implementation.
4. Performing periodic assessment & assurance reviews on key activities.
5. Validating new regulatory controls before the effective date.
6. Conducting compliance training to the sales platform.
7. Co-ordinating external and internal audits of Retail Business.
8. Undertaking ad hoc projects related to business / regulatory controls.

Job Requirements

1. Recognized degree in Business, Finance, Accountancy or Law preferred.
2. At least 3-5 years of related working experience in a Retail Bank environment.
3. Prior experience in operational risk management within business units or internal / external audit is welcome.
4. Good understanding of the regulations applicable to Retail Banking would be an advantage.
5. Good presentation and data analytics skills.
6. Creative, resourceful, meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently.
7. Self-driven and a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
