Our brand headquarters in Singapore is seeking a talented Brand Communications Manager – Public Relations to drive Banyan Group’s public relations strategy, increasing awareness, visibility and share of voice for our brands and properties worldwide. You will be part of a talented team and get the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders, internal teams and external agencies at the global, regional and local levels to develop the corporate narrative and implement the earned media strategy for Banyan Group

Job Scope

Brand Communications / PR Strategy. Drive the corporate and consumer communications strategy for Banyan Group alongside the Head of Brand Communications. Develop the PR calendar with a focus on increasing brand share of voice through communications activities that will drive meaningful media coverage. Annual planning for key announcements, media events, and press trips organised in partnership with brand and property teams.

Communication Materials. Oversee the development and update of corporate press materials, including press releases, fact sheets and executive bios. Prepare briefing materials and messaging/positioning documents for executive team members in preparation for media events and interviews. Draft responses to media Q&A, ensuring alignment of key messages and accuracy of information. Review press releases from property teams, agencies, and partners to ensure brand alignment.

Agency Management. Partner our global PR agencies in managing the agreed scope of work within their respective markets.

Media Relations. Cultivate strong relationships with top-tier travel, trade, and business media. Secure regular meetings with editors/influencers to ensure that Banyan Group remains top of mind. Be the brand’s spokesperson with media relations, fielding incoming media requests. Proactively pitch corporate news and thought leadership opportunities to media in key markets. Work with the PR agencies to amplify content in the respective markets. Coordinate for media opportunities, working with the relevant agencies and property communications teams to secure meaningful exposure.

Crisis and Issues Communications. An active member of the crisis team supporting hotels when required. Support the Head of Brand Communications in gathering facts, creating media statements, fielding incoming media requests, as well as monitoring sentiments and coverage around the issue(s).

Content and Database Management. Own and manage external communications channels such as the Banyan Group’s press room and news distribution platforms; as well as internal channels and assets, such as media database and press kits, ensuring that all required content and materials are kept up-to-date and on-brand.

Communications Measurement. Measure results of communications activities in alignment with agreed key performance indicators (KPIs). Leverage media monitoring and social listening tools in addition to PR agencies’ support to ensure accurate reporting of press coverage and other external communications activities. Prepare regular reports measuring media activity, press coverage, and share of voice.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in public relations, marketing communications, and corporate communications, with a focus on narrative creation, preferably within the travel or hospitality sector.
  • Qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience in managing PR agencies across multiple markets.
  • Confident in engaging and collaborating with senior leadership teams.
  • A global and growth mindset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project streams in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
