Job description

Primary Objectives of Position

  • Manage the maintenance of the SPLRT Power Supply and Distribution System equipment to ensure that the safety, reliability, and availability of such services meet the standards agreed with the Operation Department.

Major Responsibilities

  • Liaise with LTA on all matters pertaining to the Power Supply and Distribution equipment.
  • Ensure proper taking over of Power Supply and Distribution from LTA.
  • Ensure receipt of all final manuals and drawings relative to maintenance, training, and operation.
  • Meet Operation Department targets for availability and reliability of Power Supply and Distribution equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and renewed as necessary to retain its value at the end of the franchise period.
  • Assist in procuring all necessary tools and spares pertaining to the operation of the system.
  • Plan and implement a cost-effective and comprehensive maintenance program.
  • Prepare and review maintenance contracts. Certify outsourced maintenance contractor’s invoices, purchase orders, and variation orders.
  • Ensure Work Instruction and all records are completed in accordance with approved documented procedures.
  • Check and verify permits to work for Main line and Depot maintenance access activities.
  • Lead in Failure Review and Corrective Action System.
  • Manage staff, including participation in the selection, discipline, and performance review processes.
  • Formulate asset management plans, prepare associated budgets, and manage asset performance.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.

Specific Safety Responsibilities

  • The safety of people – protect the passengers, the public, and personnel (staff and contractors) from injury and nuisance.
  • The safety of the system and the environment – protect against damage and pollution.
  • The safety of the service – protect against disruption and delay.
  • Maintain the technical standard for the PDS equipment to ensure the highest level of operational safety for the LRT Systems.
  • Enforce Departmental Works Instruction System and all Rail-related Safety Rules and Procedures.
  • Ensure the safety of all Inventory Management staff working on or around the rail and light rapid transit system and Store areas.
  • Implement proper material handling procedures to meet safety requirements.

The above activities are not exhaustive and are subject to amendment whenever needed.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • Degree holder with at least 3 years of working experience or Diploma holder with 10 years of working experience in high voltage operation & maintenance, preferably in a transportation environment.
  • Experience in testing and commissioning of electrical services.

  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Good communication skills.
