Linux / Unix Engineer – In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Unix related servers, networks and related applications for WOG agencies.

You Will:

  1. Server installation, Administration and performance optimization with RedHat 7/8/9.
  2. Provide technical assistance and support for applications, hardware problems. Prepare evaluations and reports on system efficiency and utilization.
  3. Be an innovative and talented System Administrator responsible for production up-time, health check-up of physical systems. Provide 24x7 support to critical production systems and team members.
  4. Perform root cause analysis of problems. Prepare a plan of action, implement changes, document all work completed.
  5. Have good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences.
  6. Migrate Servers from RHEL 7 and 8 to RHEL 9.
  7. Add storage on RHEL/Solaris and IBM AIX servers.
  8. Perform Solaris 10/11 OS administration tasks with zones/LDOMS and ZFS.
  9. Ensure RHEL and Solaris servers have the latest security OS patches.
  10. Have knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Load Balancers and Firewalls, OS cluster, and Virtualization.
  11. Perform user administration tasks on RHEL 7/8/9, IBM AIX and Solaris 10/11 servers.

You Bring:

  1. Experience in RHEL 7,8,9 administration, implementation & Troubleshooting.
  2. Experience in Linux clustering & VM level Linux cluster.
  3. Experience in OS installation, configuration, and fine-tuning.
  4. Experience in Linux security, OS hardening, Auditing.
  5. Experience in NFS / DNS / Automount administration and LVM / GFS / Filesystem administration.
  6. Experience in H/W troubleshooting & Vendor coordination.
  7. Experience in Incident management, Change management, Configuration management.
  8. Experience in Log monitoring/maintenance.
  9. Engage in maintenance and support activities, including troubleshooting, incident response, and patching in a timely manner.
  10. Work with end users, architects, and team leads in developing and implementing Unix and Linux related configuration changes based on requirements.
  11. Evaluate Unix and Linux platforms architecture and make recommendations as required.
  12. Coordinate with vendors and support teams on problem resolution, implementation issues, and upgrades.
  13. Have good experience in Redhat OS repo creation & Troubleshooting for Patching (Red Hat Satellite management experience preferred).
  14. Be willing to be on 24 x 7 stand-by for service contract and maintenance services on a rotating basis.
  15. Deep experience in Linux Crash dump analysis and logs analysis.
  16. Experience in Squid Proxy server, Splunk installation, SMTP server, Apache & Tomcat webserver.
  17. Good experience in automating with Shell scripting and Ansible.
  18. Basic experience in Public cloud knowledge.
