Logistics and Store Executive Responsibilities

Logistics Management

  1. Coordination of Shipments and SuppliesPlan and manage the timely procurement, transportation, and delivery of parts, tools, and materials required for ship repair projects.
    Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and shipping agents to ensure critical components reach the repair site on time.
  2. DocumentationPrepare and verify shipping and customs documentation for imported or exported parts and equipment.
    Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.
  3. Inventory ManagementTrack incoming and outgoing shipments to maintain accurate inventory of ship repair components and consumables.
    Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to monitor stock levels and track item usage.
  4. Supplier and Vendor ManagementLiaise with local and international suppliers to source marine-grade materials and equipment.
    Negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance for cost-efficiency and reliability.
  5. Emergency Logistics SupportRespond swiftly to urgent repair requests by arranging expedited delivery of critical parts.
    Address delays, damaged shipments, or shortages to minimize project downtime.

Store Management

  1. Stock Control and StorageMaintain an organized inventory of spares, tools, and consumables used for marine ship repairs.
    Ensure proper storage of items to prevent damage from environmental factors such as moisture or salt air.
  2. Receiving and Dispatching GoodsOversee the receipt of goods, inspecting for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders.
    Manage the dispatch of materials to repair sites, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  3. Equipment and Tools ManagementTrack and maintain tools, ensuring they are calibrated and in working condition.
    Implement protocols for the issuance and return of tools and equipment.
  4. Compliance with Safety StandardsEnforce proper storage and handling of hazardous materials, adhering to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
    Ensure the store complies with marine industry standards and certification requirements.

Administrative and Strategic Duties

  1. Reporting and AnalysisPrepare regular reports on inventory levels, material usage, and logistics performance.
    Analyze data to identify trends, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
  2. Team CoordinationSupervise logistics and store personnel, providing training on safety, inventory systems, and operational procedures.
    Assign tasks and monitor team performance to meet deadlines for ship repair projects.
  3. Cost ManagementIdentify opportunities to optimize logistics and storage costs without compromising quality or efficiency.

Specialized Responsibilities for Marine Ship Repair

  1. Coordination with Project TeamsWork closely with project managers, engineers, and repair crews to prioritize material needs for ongoing ship repair jobs.
  2. Critical Spare Parts ManagementMaintain a fast-access inventory of frequently used or high-demand spare parts to minimize downtime.
  3. Support for Dry Dock and Offshore OperationsEnsure the timely supply of parts and equipment to dry dock and offshore repair sites.
    Manage logistics for transporting oversized or heavy equipment used in ship repair.
