Role overview

Gradiant is seeking a highly motivated, empathetic and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee and manage complex project logistics, including arranging freight, handling duties and taxes, managing exemption matters pertaining to Sales Tax and Duties (if applicable), laydown area at site co-ordination, storage if the site is unavailable at the point of delivery, container purchases, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

LOGISTICS:

1. Develops Logistical plans for Special projects including timelines, schedules, and consolidation points of owners supplies;
2. Directs planning meetings with the Operational Team and Procurement to ensure project coordination from a logistical perspective;
3. Manages the receiving and releasing of goods, independently or together with the Material Controller;
4. Leads logistics and Supply Chain staff, mentors and influences others on complex projects and assignments;
5. Serves as the Logistics focal point of contact on the project;
6. Develops work procedures; prepares work schedules and expedites workflow;
7. Issues written and oral instructions. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates;
8. Works closely with Sourcing, Operations, Finance, and Engineering, in support of Supply Chain road map initiatives;
9. Leads project teams in support of complex, and often critical, cross-functional logistics and supply chain strategies / related business initiatives;
10. Identifies and mitigates risks and drives continuous improvement throughout the supply chain for all assigned projects and activities;
11. Networks across the organization and develops successful internal and external relationships.

OTHERS:

1. Supports team members whenever needed.
2. Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager/management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Transportation or Business Administration;
2. 10-15 years of previous experience in Logistics, Operations, Warehousing, Transportation, or Distribution; experience with Customer Integration projects desired;
3. Demonstrated Project management skills and proven leadership ability required;
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, MS PowerPoint, and Excel required;
5. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills required;
6. Must be self-directed, able to interact effectively with all levels of management;
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, detail-oriented;
8. Instills a sense of urgency and drives problems towards resolution;
9. Extensive working knowledge of international and domestic transportation including ocean, truck and air;
10. International Import/Export and Customs Regulations;
11. Exceptional project management skills (PMP certification and experience with Microsoft Project is a plus) and strong conceptual thinking.
