Job description

Join our Client's dynamic team as we seek a Librarian, who's an exceptional individual to spearhead operational needs in collaboration with the Client. You'll thrive in a dynamic environment while delivering a pleasant customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Supervising a team of library officers to ensure that everyday duties are completed efficiently
  2. Ensure that the team is continuously updated on developments in the library industry, which include standards for collection development, acquisitions, and cataloging, so they can continually provide library users with the most recent information
  3. Supervise the day-to-day management of the library's activities, such as loan transactions, acquisitions, and cataloguing
  4. Managing library materials and carrying out programs and activities
  5. Perform collection review including gap analysis, data analysis for reporting
  6. Prepare and analyze reports on a regular basis, such as those on reference inquiries, loan and collection statistics, and library usage
  7. Develop recommended library resource listings which includes books, eBooks, journals, magazines, databases, etc.
  8. Create or suggest strategic library initiatives that spotlight the resources and services offered by the library
  9. Communicate with vendors to acquire, choose, and deliver print and e-resources
  10. Responding to concerns, queries, and feedback in accordance with regulations and guidelines
  11. Maintaining and managing E-resources to ensure up-to-date and accurate data
  12. Process interlibrary loans and updates to ensure accurate inventory data
  13. Ensuring and maintaining library etiquette and ensuring area is clean and organized
  14. Library management team include overseeing the collections, managing the acquisition of resources, managing the system to ensure data accuracy in the LMS (Library Management System), tracking the movements of library items
  15. Carry out any additional tasks that could be allocated

Job Requirements

  1. Min Diploma or equivalent with min 10 years of relevant working experience in managing law library
  2. A postgraduate qualification in library and information management would be an added advantage
  3. Tech-savvy with good proficiency in Microsoft Office and technology tools
  4. Meticulous with details, good communication and interpersonal skills
