Our client is a leading and regulated fintech with a strong presence in the SEA jurisdictions. As a part of expansion efforts, there are currently two newly created headcounts (Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel) for banking & finance lawyers to join their dynamic Legal & Compliance team in Singapore. Key responsibilities include:

• Provide legal advice on banking and finance regulations, compliance issues, and transactional matters related to digital banking services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various banking agreements, including loan agreements, service contracts, outsourcing agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Identify potential legal risks and provide strategic guidance to mitigate them in relation to banking operations and product offerings.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including compliance, risk management, and business development, to support the bank’s strategic initiatives.
• Stay updated on changes in banking and finance laws, regulations, and industry trends; provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• A relevant degree in Law and 6-12 PQE from Singapore/commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Experience from both in-house and reputable law firm is preferred.
• Experience in handling various lending contracts for HK, SG, Thailand, Malaysia jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese is a must.
