Legal Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Manager to oversee legal operations across our E-Commerce, Financial Services, and Robotics business lines. This role is crucial in ensuring regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, risk mitigation, and corporate governance as the company continues its global expansion. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in corporate law, financial regulations, intellectual property, and technology-related legal matters.

As a key member of the legal and compliance team, you will work closely with executive leadership, external counsel, and regulatory bodies to provide strategic legal guidance and safeguard the company’s interests.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate & Commercial Legal Advisory

• Provide legal counsel on commercial agreements, partnerships, and corporate transactions across e-commerce, fintech, and robotics sectors.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supplier agreements, technology licensing, corporate governance structure.
• Ensure corporate governance compliance, overseeing board resolutions and shareholder agreements.
• Stay updated on evolving regulations and assess potential legal risks for product development.

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution

• Identify legal risks and implement risk mitigation strategies across business operations.
• Manage litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution, working with external counsel when necessary.
• Establish compliance policies and internal training programs to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.

Intellectual Property (IP) Protection

• Develop and implement IP protection strategies, including patent filings, trade secrets, and technology licensing.
• Handle product liability risk assessments, regulatory certifications, and industry standards for robotics hardware and software.
• Ensure AI and automation solutions comply with ethical and legal frameworks in global markets.

Consumer Protection

• Oversee compliance with international e-commerce laws, including data protection (GDPR, PDPA), advertising regulations, and consumer rights laws.
• Advise on platform policies, dispute resolution, and intellectual property rights concerning online marketplace operations.
• Work closely with marketing teams to ensure legal compliance in advertising, promotions, and influencer collaborations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 8-12 years of experience in corporate law, fintech regulations, IP law, or commercial contracts.
• Strong legal expertise in financial services, e-commerce, and technology sectors.
• Hands-on experience with global financial licensing, payment regulations, and fintech compliance.
• Knowledge of consumer protection laws, data privacy, and platform liability.
• Experience handling intellectual property protection is a plus.
• Excellent contract negotiation, risk assessment, and dispute resolution skills.
• Strong ability to liaise with regulators, government bodies, and external legal firms.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
