Legal Counsel (4+ PQE) - Financial Services

Our client is looking for a Legal Counsel to be a part of their global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory & Government Affairs team, where you will be working with a high performing team, ensuring compliance across the organization and minimizing risks. This diverse, innovative team has earned recognition for leadership and forward-thinking solutions.

Your Role: Leverage your expertise in legal and regulatory matters, balancing stakeholder needs, data, and risk analysis to drive key outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

• Stay updated on MAS requirements, review consultation papers, and ensure compliance with regulatory filings.
• Oversee corporate governance in Asia Pacific, collaborating with local counsel to ensure adherence to the business' policies and local laws.
• Track director and executive appointments/resignations, and ensure accurate corporate data management.
• Assist with gap analysis, regulatory updates, and MAS outsourcing contracts register.
• Contribute to regional projects and support policy adoption for local laws and regulations.
• Advise on day-to-day legal and compliance queries and assist with litigation and dispute resolution.

Key Skills & Experience:

• At least 4 PQE at a reputable private practice firm or insurance or financial services industry.
• Strong legal expertise and risk management abilities.
• Proven experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and advising senior management.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset, capable of interacting confidently with senior leadership and independent directors.
