THE ROLE
Working as a Legal Counsel advising the Company on legal matters relating to the Company’s business operations and ensuring the Company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Draft, review and negotiate wide variety of commercial agreements such as leases, service agreements, e-commerce agreements, partnership agreements, collaboration agreements, marketing promotion agreements, etc.;
Conduct research and advise on general legal and other specific issues relating to the Company’s business activities including intellectual property rights, personal data protection, payment services, food safety and technical, pharmaceutical related matters such as tele-pharmacy, employment law and consumer rights, etc.;
Identify and assess any risk and potential issues in contracts and/or transactions which the Company intends to enter into and advise the relevant stakeholders accordingly;
Ensure compliance with the Company and DFI Retail Group policies and ensure necessary approvals from various stakeholders and senior management are obtained prior to entering into any deal or arrangement;
Review and advise internal stakeholder in respect of any third party claims and/or other contractual disputes;
Oversee litigation matters including liaising with external counsel and loss adjusters where applicable;
Any other ad-hoc work arrangements required by the Chief Legal Officer, the Head of Legal Department and/or the Company.
ABOUT YOU
Qualified to practice law in Commonwealth country, preferably being called to the Singapore Bar;
Have at least 3 years to 5 years PQE either as a practicing lawyer in law firm or in-house legal role.
