Legal and Compliance Manager

Our company is a leading asset management company with businesses that comprise wealth management, fund management, and investment advisory. We are looking for a Legal and Compliance Manager to join us in our Singapore head office. The Legal and Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance matters for our asset management company and all of our funds, including but not limited to hedge funds, private equity funds, and alternative asset funds.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) regulations.
2. Ensure compliance with all statutory filing requirements, including but not limited to MAS statutory forms filings.
3. Conduct compliance testing and monitoring to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
4. Review and consent marketing materials, investor communications, and other external-facing documents for compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Oversee the firm's Code of Ethics and Personal Trading Compliance program.
6. Manage the firm's relationships with outside counsel and regulatory agencies.
7. Provide advice and counsel to the company's senior management team on legal and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles in the financial services industry, preferably at an asset management company.
3. Strong knowledge of MAS rules and regulations (e.g., Securities and Futures Act 2001).
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Ability to identify issues and make recommendations for problem-solving.
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
8. Proactiveness to ensure work deliverables.
9. Good team player.
