CCDS and NBS are looking for a joint appointee with the necessary experience and knowledge in FinTech. The appointee should have a deep understanding of the business models in the FinTech ecosystem and emerging trends, and must demonstrate technical expertise in the core concepts, such as blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, etc.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high quality courses in FinTech that include both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in both CCDS and NBS.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement to ensure students receive world class teaching education.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, fostering their intellectual and professional growth.
- Contribute to the School and university’s service activities, including committee participation, outreach and engagement with industry partners.
- Facilitates and conducts all teaching assignments, both face-to-face and virtual delivery.
- Oversee and complete core course administrative tasks or duties such as course evaluation, online course materials, attendance records, academic counselling on student progress.
- Conduct assessments, marking and grade entries, feedback to students, student consultations, non-academic matters (e.g., invigilation) etc.
- Develop and update course materials and learning resources for course delivery and support students' learning.
- Provide regular course and student progress statistics for reporting, improvement of students’ learning and strategic decision making.
- Demonstrate values and principles of professional conduct in all endeavours.
- Conduct impactful research in areas related to FinTech and collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the university.
- Promote and facilitate collaboration between NBS and SCSE.
- Any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Applicants should preferably have industry and/or academic experience, a passion for teaching and possess a Master's degree or PhD in related field.
- Candidates should demonstrate teaching/mentoring excellence and be able to engage in curriculum development and work closely with students for undergraduate courses.
