Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Civil Engineering)

The appointee must be competent to teach diploma and higher levels in the following key areas of the Built Environment Industry Transformation Map (ITM) and Civil Engineering domains:

  1. Integrated Planning and Design (IPD)
  2. Advanced Manufacturing and Assembly (AMA)
  3. Sustainable Urban Systems (SUS)
  4. Structural Mechanics & Analysis
  5. Reinforced Concrete Design & CAD
  6. Steel Design & CAD
  7. Transportation Engineering

[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and mentor students
  2. Develop and maintain new or existing teaching curriculum and learning materials for modules stated above
  3. Deploy effective pedagogy to facilitate learning
  4. Undertake projects or consultancy work with both internal and external stakeholders, especially in the areas of Built Environment ITM

[What we are looking for]
Requirements:

  1. Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering
  2. Relevant industry experience and/or knowledge of the implementation of Built Environment ITM and adoption of ITM key areas in the current/future industry outlook
  3. Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students
  4. Self-driven, independent, and possess readiness to work as a team
  5. People-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills

Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:

  1. Chartered Engineer registered with IES
  2. Green Mark Professional (GMP) accredited by SGBC

Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
