Job Description

  • Instructional Design and Delivery:
    Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities that promote active learning experiences.
    Develop comprehensive schemes of work and lesson plans tailored to course objectives and student needs.
    Establish and communicate clear learning objectives and expectations for all activities.
    Leverage diverse learning materials, resources, and methods to cater to varied student learning styles and needs.
    Incorporate relevant technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance instruction.
  • Classroom Management and Student Support:
    Create and maintain a conducive learning environment, preparing classrooms for diverse learning activities.
    Manage student behavior by setting and enforcing clear rules and procedures.
    Maintain discipline in alignment with school policies and disciplinary systems.
    Monitor and support individual student progress, offering constructive feedback and academic encouragement.
    Provide pastoral care, including counseling students with academic challenges and promoting their overall well-being.
  • Assessment and Record-Keeping:
    Design and administer assessments, including classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.
    Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of their progress.
    Prepare and submit required reports on student achievements and activities in compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development:
    Participate actively in departmental and school meetings, contributing to collective goals and initiatives.
    Engage in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports, and student organizations, to foster a holistic student experience.
    Stay current with advancements in your subject area, instructional methods, and educational technology, incorporating relevant updates into your teaching practices.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    Perform administrative and pastoral duties as required, including supporting students beyond the classroom environment.
    Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of School (HOS) or Director of Studies (DOS).

Educational Background:
Ideally a PhD in any discipline or currently pursuing a PhD.
A Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics, Business Management, Logistics and Supply Chain, Hospitality, or Law may also be considered.

  • Teaching Experience:
    At least 5 years of teaching experience preferably in postgraduate programmes.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    Teaching qualifications such as the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), or Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE).
  • Skills and Competencies:
    Demonstrated passion for teaching and ability to engage postgraduate students effectively.
    Capacity to integrate real-world industry insights into teaching to enhance student learning outcomes.
    Familiarity with contemporary learning methods, strategies, and tools.
    Excellent presentation and communication skills, tailored for an advanced academic audience.
    Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work in dynamic and diverse environments, demonstrating adaptability and stress tolerance.
  • Additional Attributes:
    Highly student-oriented, with a commitment to fostering an enriching educational experience.
    Proven ability to mentor and guide postgraduate students in academic and professional development.
