Lecturer (Digital Technology)

Job Description:

We are seeking passionate and qualified individuals to join our teaching team in the areas of AI, Data Science, Data Analytics, Coding & Programming using Java, R, Python, Android Studio, Visual Studio, Unreal, Unity, MySQL, NoSQL, React.js Node.js, Django, AWS, Mobile Application Development, Database, Cyber Security and related subjects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, supporting student learning, and contributing to curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that promote active learning.
• Assist in developing schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classrooms and provide appropriate teaching materials and resources.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to accommodate diverse learning needs of students
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.
• Provide appropriate feedback on work.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and school regulations.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities.
• Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with institutional policies.
• Provide pastoral support and academic guidance to students (i.e: student support, counselling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement)
• Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.
• Attend departmental and staff meetings.
• Stay updated with developments in relevant subject areas and adapt teaching practices accordingly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School (HOS) or Director of Studies (DOS).

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree and Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, Artificial Intelligence, STEM-related disciplines).
• Specialisation in areas such as AI, Data Science, Data Analytics, Programming (Java, R, Python), Mobile App Development, Cyber Security, Cloud Technologies (e.g. AWS), Databases (MySQL, NoSQL), or relevant technologies and frameworks (e.g. React.js, Node.js, Django, Unity, Unreal).
• A teaching qualification such as ACTA, ACLP, SDALT, GCTLHE, or PGCHE is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant industry or teaching experience.
• A strong passion for education and student development.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current learning methods and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to work in a dynamic environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good decision-making skills.
