Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer

This role requires the incumbent to independently manage mechanical engineering scopes such as pumps, compressors, blowers, turbines, and package equipment.

The position includes leading design assignments, performing technical evaluations, and coordinating with various disciplines to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design assignments focusing on pumps, compressors, blowers, turbines, and package equipment.
• Act as the checker for department rotating/package deliverables.
• Prepare specifications, data sheets, and inquiry documents.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations.
• Carry out mechanical handling and movement studies.
• Coordinate with various disciplines for layout.
• Review vendor documentation and manage vendor relationships.
• Provide technical requirements and assessments for inspection and quality control.
• Participate in site surveys, HAZOPs, and various workshops.
• Participate in FATs, shop inspections, and provide technical support during construction and pre-commissioning stages.
• Handle interface matters and coordinate with relevant parties.
• Be prepared to work at construction sites and potentially overseas.
• Fulfill other work-related requests from the Department Manager/Supervisor.

Requirements

• Possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12-15 years of industry experience.
• On-site experience in field engineering, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Shell DEPs, Exxon GPs, Chevron CES, and GMPs design is an added advantage.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, blowers, turbines, and industrial packages.
• Ability to interpret client requirements, identify deviations, and coordinate resolutions.
• Demonstrated ability to verify deliverables for error-free output and to draft technical resolutions.
• Fluent in English and proficient in MS Office programs.
• Skilled in planning and coordinating with internal and external parties.
• Experience leading a multi-locational team of engineers.
