Lead Data Engineer

Our esteemed client, an established MNC, is searching for a Lead Data Engineer:

Job Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data pipelines, databases, and data infrastructure.
2. Mentor and coach a team of data engineers, providing technical leadership and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
3. Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
4. Optimize database schemas, tables, and queries to support data storage, retrieval, and analysis needs.
5. Integrate and optimize analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for advanced data analysis, visualization, and reporting capabilities.
6. Develop and enforce data engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines to ensure quality, performance, and reliability.
7. Implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources while ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
8. Optimize data pipelines, queries, and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
9. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and infrastructure issues, providing timely resolutions.
10. Stay updated with the latest data engineering technologies, analytical tools, and best practices, and drive their adoption within the team.
11. Ensure data security, compliance with data governance and privacy regulations, and adherence to analytical tool licensing agreements.
12. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
13. Document data pipelines, processes, and best practices while contributing to the development of data engineering documentation and standards.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
2. 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior engineering role.
3. Proven leadership skills, including experience mentoring and guiding a team of data engineers.
4. Strong technical background in designing and implementing data pipelines, databases, and analytical tools.
5. Proficiency in modern data engineering technologies and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark).
6. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
7. Solid understanding of data security, compliance, and governance principles.
8. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
9. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:

1. Salary: Up to SGD 10,000 + AWS + VB (2 - 3 Months)
2. Working Location: Tanjong Pagar
