You will join our Ramboll Energy from Waste (EfW) & Carbon Capture Team in APAC.

The Energy from Waste & Carbon Capture team represent a truly international and dynamic environment and undertake projects worldwide within energy from waste (combustion and other thermal treatment technologies), generation of biogas, waste sorting and resource recovery, carbon capture etc. Our team is recognized as the leading international consultant in this field of business. We provide consulting services out of offices in Copenhagen, Harwell (UK), Zurich, Singapore and Australia, where both projects and competence teams connect our colleagues.

As our new Lead Engineer, you will be part of our team in Singapore and wider APAC team of over 25 experts. You will be working on projects primarily in the APAC region, and potentially other international projects. Examples of work could be design review of technical documentation by Contractor’s in our Owner’s Engineer projects, preparation of technical documents for tender specifications, technical due diligences, red flag assessments, and feasibility studies.

About The Role

Your key responsibilities and tasks could include – in close collaboration with colleagues and clients:

  • Responsible for the technical aspects of Energy from Waste & Carbon Capture plants, including outline design, technical specifications for tender documents, evaluation of suppliers’ technical proposals, review of the suppliers’ designs, participate in HAZOPS, technical discussions etc.
  • To discuss process design options at conceptual level to identify the solutions that best suit the clients’ priorities and future developments.
  • In projects with several equipment supplies you would coordinate the interfaces between suppliers like balance of plant, furnace/boiler, electrical etc.
  • To conduct condition assessment of existing flue gas treatment plants and discuss optimization possibilities.
  • Troubleshooting on facilities and initiate investigations that could provide better understanding of the challenges involved.
  • Participate in development activities within the competency area (e.g. to increase recycling of residues, develop on process modelling tools and CO2 absorption).

  • +15 years of experience Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with experience within energy from waste plants and/or biogas generation and/or waste sorting and resource recovery, CCUS, biomass, biofuels.
  • Familiar/experienced with the role of EPC Engineering Design, Owner’s Engineer (OE), Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and other technical advisory and consultancy works.
  • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license registered with the Singapore Professional Engineers Board (PEB).
  • Excellent spoken and written English. Good language skills of languages around the APAC region would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and contractors.
  • Keen on working internationally and collaborating across cultures and geographies.
