Laboratory Assistant

Job Description

Supports the laboratory technical staff in the areas of specimen processing, and procurement and may perform lab testing under the direct supervision of medical technologists.

1. Follow all laboratory protocols and policies in checking specimens (e.g. COVID, blood, stool, urine, etc) received and make sure that names tally with the request forms for testing.
2. Follow test requirements of reference laboratory and procure appropriate specimens for testing.
3. Perform barcoding samples and process laboratory specimens received from patients under prescribed laboratory guidelines.
4. Utilize centrifuges and other lab equipment to process specimens and prepare them for testing.
5. Receive requested stock items and distribute them to the appropriate place within the laboratory.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum N-Level
2. Relevant work experience in a medical laboratory environment. (Candidates without experience are welcome to apply)
3. Able to start work immediately.
4. Able to work 5.5 days/week (Including weekends and rostered PH).
5. Responsible team player with a positive work attitude and supportive of operational needs.
