Job description

Supervision of QC activities including Analytical Services, product analysis (IQC, IPQC & FQC), method development, and managing laboratory-related projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational safety of the laboratory and its processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with the Assistant Lab Manager and other key stakeholders to collaboratively prioritize day-to-day laboratory tasks including analytical testing for customers, to meet their needs and deadlines while supporting overall business objectives.
  2. Lead the development, review, and enhancement of laboratory operational planning and procedures to optimize productivity and minimize operational costs.
  3. Develop and implement control plans and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for laboratory processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. Act as the primary liaison between the laboratory and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to address technical and quality-related matters.
  5. Provide laboratory support for small-scale blending of new formulations to facilitate the growth of new business initiatives.
  6. Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO9001, ISO18001, ISO14001, SS506, and ISO17025 management systems within the laboratory.
  7. Drive the implementation and development of innovative analytical methods to stay at the forefront of technology.
  8. Provide effective troubleshooting support and incident management for laboratory-related issues, ensuring minimal disruptions.
  9. Manage laboratory operating expenses to optimize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
  10. Oversee procurement, inventory management, and the capitalization of laboratory assets to maintain efficient operations.
  11. Adhere to and enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  12. Lead or actively participate in safety, reliability, and productivity-related projects within the laboratory's scope.
  13. Provide comprehensive training to laboratory staff to maintain their skill set and foster flexibility within the team.
  14. Ensure the timely transfer of the Dip tube preventive maintenance program management to the AV-8 operations team.
  15. Lead or participate in projects that align with and contribute to the overall objectives of laboratory operations.
  16. Manage the capital purchase process for laboratory metrology and equipment upgrades to align with industry standards and technological advancements.
  17. Undertake any other tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the laboratory's success.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or Master's in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  2. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, of which 5 years of supervisory experience.
