Junior Web Developer (Education)

We are a leading Singapore textbook publisher transitioning towards the future of education by embracing technology and digital learning solutions. We are committed to creating innovative and interactive digital textbooks to enhance the learning experience for students. As we move into the edtech space, we are looking to build a dynamic and skilled in-house team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of interactive components for digital textbooks and educational platforms.
• Support the design and implementation of website layouts and user interfaces using HTML/CSS.
• Contribute to building reusable code and libraries for future projects.
• Help optimise applications for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with team members, including senior developers, designers and editors.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
• Familiarity with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., jQuery).
• Basic understanding of asynchronous request handling and AJAX.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in producing HTML5 animations using JavaScript or other languages.
• Knowledge of backend development is a plus but not required.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to a growing edtech environment.
