Job Overview: A Junior BIM professional supports the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and technologies in construction and architectural projects. This entry-level role typically involves assisting senior BIM specialists in creating, coordinating, and maintaining digital models of building designs, ensuring that the models are accurate, compliant with project specifications, and effectively integrated into the overall project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

BIM Model Creation and Management:

• Assist in creating and updating 3D BIM models for various construction and architectural projects.
• Ensure the BIM models are aligned with project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate design and construction elements into the BIM system.

Model Coordination and Quality Control:

• Review and coordinate BIM models for accuracy, clash detection, and constructability.
• Identify and resolve issues related to the clash of design elements and ensure model compliance.
• Assist in ensuring that BIM models are properly documented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with project teams, providing technical support and assisting with BIM-related tasks.
• Help communicate project changes and updates effectively within the BIM platform.
• Assist with the training of project team members on BIM tools and software.

Software Usage and Data Management:

• Use BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.) to create, manage, and update models.
• Maintain and organize BIM-related documentation and data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Stay current with updates to BIM software and tools to support project needs.

Project Documentation and Reporting:

• Assist in generating reports and visualizations (e.g., 3D renderings, floor plans, etc.) from BIM models.
• Support the generation of construction documents and project deliverables from the BIM system.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining project folders, ensuring files are correctly named and stored.

Learning and Development:

• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance BIM knowledge and technical skills.
• Stay informed about BIM trends, standards, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in BIM-related roles (internships or entry-level positions are acceptable).
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, architecture, or engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 19650, COBie, or relevant BIM standards is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
