Meeting with clients and other involved professionals at an early stage to agree on the project brief;
Developing project briefs and working on these as the project progresses;
Preparing design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and traditional drawing methods;
Contributing to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures;
Understanding how the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at an early stage;
Following up with the detailed design process and co-ordinating design information;
Liaising with appropriate authorities (e.g. Planning enquiries and technical officers) to obtain statutory approval;
Co-ordinating and liaising with the various consultants on the project team;
Advising clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking;
Leading the preparation of tender documentation and construction drawings;
Assisting in administering contracts and project certifications;
Obtaining feedback on work in progress and finished results from clients;
Making site visits to check on progress and ensuring that the project is running within the agreed timescale;
Solving problems that might occur during building/construction stage;
Carrying out defect inspections;
Managing the work of junior staff/direct reports.
Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience in the architectural industry in Singapore or Malaysia;
Able to work within a team and in a fast-paced environment;
Familiar with building regulations (Singapore or Malaysia);
Strong Portfolio;
Good working attitude, proactive and conscientious.
