Job Description
As an IT Specialist in the IT Managed Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the technology environment at client offices. You will provide desktop and server/network support while collaborating closely with the Project Manager on various technology projects.

Daily Responsibilities

1. Provide daily break-fix support to clients in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.
2. Participate in various projects.
3. Track and prioritize tasks effectively.
4. Keep clients informed of any system changes and project updates.
5. Escalate issues to your team leader when:
1. They could affect users across the office.
2. They could impact disaster recovery (DR) plans.
3. They are taking longer than expected to resolve.
4. They impact key users.
5. They are recurring and may signal an underlying infrastructure issue.
6. Be available for contact by phone outside of regular working hours.
7. Develop an in-depth understanding of visited client sites and document this information.
8. Continuously update your technology skills.
9. Identify, suggest, and implement improvements to processes both internally and at client sites.

Key Skills

1. Strong knowledge of Desktop and Server computing (Microsoft platforms - Office, Outlook, Exchange), as well as handheld devices such as iPhones.
2. Experience with the following would be beneficial: Market data systems (Bloomberg, Reuters), Voice systems (Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, VoIP), and server room patching.
3. Industry certifications (MCSA/MCSE, CCNA) are advantageous.
4. A solid understanding of networks (LAN and WAN) is required.

Work Experience Requirements

1. Diploma or Degree in a technology-related discipline.
2. 3+ years in a technology support role.
3. Experience in a trade floor or financial services IT environment is an advantage but not required.
4. Previous experience with a System Integrator is preferred.
