International Tax Manager
9 Month Contract – Parental Cover

The International Tax Manager (Maternity Cover) will report directly to the Head of Tax – Asia Pacific. As a member of the Corporate Tax team located in Singapore, the International Tax Manager will primarily be responsible for managing tax planning, compliance, and controversy in our region. This will involve driving tax initiatives and technology, reviewing tax processes, helping with tax audits in the region, and supporting the business teams in tax matters. This role will collaborate and work closely with the indirect tax team, accounting, and other finance and business functions.

The International Tax Manager is expected to come with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in broad spectrum tax management in Asia Pacific. Ideally, the candidate would have experience in a similar role within a large, complex organization, with operations throughout Asia. Depending on business needs, the role may require you to travel at short notice.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain oversight and co-ordination of tax compliance activities outsourced to external service providers in the Asia Pacific region, including the review of tax returns and tax forecast calculations, as well as technical analysis in support of statutory audit.
  2. Ensure transfer pricing obligations (e.g. documentation) are fulfilled under local transfer pricing laws and regulations.
  3. Provide tax advisory and project management support on ad hoc tax projects as assigned. This can include tax treaty applications and responding to internal and external tax queries.
  4. Assist and manage tax audits in the region.
  5. Integrate processes and technologies to enhance efficiency and quality of tax processes.
  6. Work with the Head of Tax to support the business teams in any tax issues.
  7. Establish a strong relationship with the regional business teams, finance, legal, and policy leaders to share tax views and information.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Law.
  2. 10 to 15 years of relevant APAC tax experience – tax compliance, transfer pricing, tax advisory, and tax controversy.
  3. Strong analytical, organization, documentation, research, and project management skills.
  4. Ability to simplify and communicate complex business/tax information.
  5. Ability to work as a team and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization (including cross-border teams).
  6. Highly organized, self-motivated, meticulous, and ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
